Whoa! Maybe it would have been wise of me to borrow my son's baseball catcher's facemask today. 2:35pm on a Wednesday afternoon and there has been no less than 5 baseballs catapulted my way from the end of various bats. I'm here to meet up with my frat brother Tom to talk about what's been happening in both of our home based businesses. It's the Giants versus the Cubs but we don't really care who wins, we just do this ever so often as a way to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Every time we get together we sarcastically thank our bosses for letting us have the day off with pay to basically shoot the breeze all day. We do this to celebrate the fact that we are our own bosses with our own home based businesses in which we call the shots. At a time in the day that's usually reserved for working at someone else's company, I'm enjoying a hotdog and a soda at a beautiful stadium. And though I'm here, my home business continues to pump out between $200-$360 everyday and even more if I actually work. After over a decade of looking, I've finally found a home business that allows me to live a charmed life. Home Run! Hey, that's coming straight at me so I conjure up the spirit of the athlete in me that has long passed, but instead of grabbing the home run ball it grabbed me; Ouch! I need ice now and my laughing friend to my right says I need to stick to running my home based business. But somehow, this has given me a glimpse to an interesting business idea. I started to blame my injury of my home business- claim that if I still had my nose to the grindstone at my old job there would be no ballgames- just work, work, work, then death! Though I'm a little bruised, I was the one who lunged for the ball, so I'm the fool, not my home business. And this pain is nothing compared to the pain of complacency-the pain that comes from being afraid to follow a passion. Another home run, but I let this one go by without so much as a body lean in that direction. I'm deep in conversation now and I'm on cloud nine bragging about my home based business' two most popular products. My buddy is just as excited about some new marking technique he discovered that doubled his earnings from last year. As two more foul balls barely miss our ducking heads, we both have good news about forging a new partnership with an up and coming marketing company. Low and behold we're talking about the same company that has given us both the opportunity to grow our home businesses exponentially. If my old college chum thinks this deal can work for him, then I know I've made the best decision for the expansion of my company. Apparently my best bud found this new company first and he's looking to win our "Smartest Home Business Move" award which is a free beer from the loser. By getting there on the ground floor he was able to negotiate a $3 commission of every $4 sale. I want that free beer too so I bragged to him about how I was able to get the same startup to match my marketing dollars 100%, which they did and still do. Walking towards the parking lot after the game gave me an opportunity to access my progress in my home based business. To be truthful, I started with a lot of passion but not much action. But as soon as I figured out how to follow my words with actions I was well on my way to enjoying finer things. I believe that everyone is destined to do great things you just have to make sure you stay on your path.
