Aromatherapy Training

By: Justin Flowers

As a term 'Aromatherapy', was initially created in the 1920's, by famous French chemist, Rene Maurice Gattefosse. It is recorded that after his arm was set ablaze in a laboratory, he immersed it into the nearest container of cold fluid, that just happened to contain lavender oil. Amazingly the burn was fully healed and there was no scarring. After that, he devoted the rest of his life to the study of aromatherapy, that involves the application of essential oils, and related aromatic extracts from plants, flowers, seeds, and leaves, to beneficially affect the mind and body.

Since that time, aromatherapy has become internationally recognized, as the art and science of using essential oils as a natural therapy, to assist the body's remedial processes. As it is both a science and an art, with important health considerations, those who practice aromatherapy need to be properly qualified. Accordingly they should participate in initial, and ongoing quality training, to satisfy the needs of the aromatherapy profession.

As you might expect, numerous excellent centers are available to assist, and appropriate materials are obtainable, to enable aromatherapy students to achieve the necessary qualifications. It is vital that all who aspire to become qualified, are totally aware of the depth of the subject, with the utmost regard to the safety and well-being of those who have sought their services.

Be aware there is no alternative to education and experience, in the quest leading to being recognized as a qualified aromatherapist. In common with other comprehensive study, there are no easy short-cuts, but there are plenty of good facilities available, to help in becoming qualified, in what is a most natural, interesting, and rewarding profession.
