Convenience & Flexibility: Online Degrees

By: Ken McCauley

Perhaps you have noticed: the educational world is in a state of great change. Decades ago, the accepted approach was for a student to graduate from high school and then enter the ranks of college and university students, stay in school until graduation, and then head out into the job market, degree firmly in hand.

But no more! Because of military service, or early parenthood - or for countless other reasons - many people today do not enter college right after high school, or they might begin attending and then quit - perhaps to raise a family or pursue full-time employment.

Whatever the reason, at some point in the future, something happens. Something that causes them to realize that they need to further their education. But what can you do if you already have a full-time job, full-time bills and full-time child raising to do? You can't just turn back the clock to a time when you were eighteen. You don't have the time to go to classes everyday - continuously for several years - in order to get that degree. But do you know that the average university student is much older? What does that tell you? That more and more people are choosing to go back to school.

Enter the University of Phoenix. They understood, as few did at that time, that the educational landscape was changing and they needed to change with it. They introduced many innovative approaches to higher education, allowing people with very busy lives and commitments to reach their educational goals online. The folks at the University of Phoenix realize that many adults just don't have the time to give to traditional on-campus attendance, so they have leveraged the Web - and they, via the Internet, bring their classes to you.

So you are asking the obvious question: what types of degree programs and courses does the University of Phoenix currently offer? Well, you can pursue coursework in Criminal Justice, Marketing, Management, Health Care, IT, Business, E-Commerce, Education. Of course, they are developing new programs all the time. It is worth noting: all of their instructors are themselves holders of Masters or Doctorate degrees.

And the payoff? By taking classes through the University of Phoenix, you can complete most degree programs in 2-3 years! Imagine - an accredited degree in less time than traditional schools, even while maintaining full-time jobs and family responsibilities! Both non-degree, Bachelors and Masters programs are available. And with your weekday schedule in mind, they offer classes on nights and weekends, and major assignments can be completed during the weekends.

One of the very best things about working with the University of Phoenix is that you will be assigned a resource person - sort of like an "academic advisor". And this contact person is a real live human being! They will help you to understand your options, answer questions, get you enrolled, set up payment options - they will really help you to get you off to a great start.

So, my friend, let me ask you: Just what are you waiting for? You know, down deep in your heart, that you need more education - even your close friends and family have been telling you that, right? You have the need, certainly. The question is: do you have the drive - the desire to succeed - the need to improve yourself and your lot in life? If so, the University of Phoenix is the place to be!
