Dancing With the Star's Runner-up Fatone Snares Game Show Gig

By: Groshan Fabiola

Former 'NSYNC member and Dancing with the Stars favorite Joey Fatone is set to join the fast tracked prime time game show The Singing Bee, which is year 2007's version of Name That Tune, where contestants are required to remember the lyrics to pop songs in order to win cash. The show, which was originally set to air later in the season, was set to air in July 19th by NBC to compete with FOX network's Don't Forget the Lyrics, which is very similar to The Singing Bee's show format. Dancing with the Stars' Fatone is ready to spice up the show with his competitive yet jovial attitude, ribbing his rival host, Wayne Brady of Don't Forget the Lyrics.

"I actually called him up and said, 'So I hear you're kind of doing a similar show?' He said, 'Yeah, it's similar,' and I said, 'Ours is better.'" Fatone said in a conversation with New York Daily News. However, details on Wayne Brady and FOX's version are not yet publicized. The two shows will run two episodes each per week, with Singing Bee on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Don’t Forget the Lyrics airing on Wednesday and Thursday, thus placing Wednesday the battleground for the shows.

Singing Bee will be placing some huge payoffs at stake for contestants in the endurance fashioned contest. Also, his duties will not involve any crooning despite his experience in the pop scene with the band 'NSYNC.

Fatone is currently appearing on the Dancing with the Stars tour and is taping the NBC show at the same time. He describes his job as host by saying "My role is just to keep it moving, obviously I have a musical background, so that kind of helps. Although, thank goodness, you won't really be watching me sing. But I try to help them out if they mess up."

Fatone's involvement in The Singing Bee hasn't been affecting his participation in the Dancing With the Stars tour, which is still underway, thus for the fans, no news is good news for tour ticket holders.
