How To Deal With Runners Knee

By: Jessica T

Think you may have runners knee? Let me tell you my story. I'm a young and healthy person who likes running, jogging, marathons, and other outdoor activities. Being active is something that allows me to clear my head and relax. So, when I developed Runner's Knee, I just about lost my mind.

Once in a while I will compete or run marathons, but usually I run every day. Last summer, I had some serious pain in my right knee. I almost slapped the doc when he told me that because of my condition, I would have to stop running for a while.

Normally, the joints in your knee glide smoothly against cartilage in the knee. With Runner's Knee, the knee rubs against the joints and can cause some intense pain. That was what I was going through. I'll tell you, it's no fun.

So I armed myself with a book, a bottle of Vicodin, and started keeping the couch company. It wasn't long before I went nuts! I wanted to be active, but my Runner's knee was all ran out for a while.

This is what I learned to keep my sanity. You can only purchase things from infomercials so many times before it dawns on you that they're all junk! There is a reality TV show for every single situation in life you could ever dream of. It really is impossible to read the encyclopedia.

God actually created heating pads to heal the whole world. It is true that people have thousands of channels, and there is still nothing to watch. Finally, my knee got better and now I am running again. I can only think of that few weeks of my life as 'Hell Week!' Well, I'm off for a run! Speak to you soon.
