How To Find Cheap Perfume

By: Shauna Moline

Are you someone who loves to run out and buy a new perfume every week? Then I don't have to tell you how expensive that gets...real quickly! Perfumes like Chanel and Bvlgari can cost over $100 for a quarter of an ounce! Lucky for you, you know how to find perfumes cheaper. You know the secrets.

The first thing you have to learn is where not to go - the department store. This huge brick and mortar structure will be the highest priced 99.9% of the time. It's just the nature of the beast. They have to pay the bills. Let's focus on perfume outlets instead.

You should be able to find a perfume outlet in you local mall, but if you don't you're going to need to find a map and track down your nearest outlet mall. Hop in the car and make the drive down there...you won't regret it. Perfume outlets offer a substantial savings, even if they don't offer the selection that a department store does. All in all, it's still a good savings for those just interested in buying the perfume.

The important thing is to make sure you are buying the actual designer brand and not a knock off. While a knock off can smell very much like the brand you know and love, it usually has a much higher alcohol content, causing the scent to wear off sooner and the perfume to go flat.

Option number 2 is a discount store like Ross, TJ Maxx, or Marshalls. Stores like these specialize in outdated fashions and you can usually get a great deal on last year's popular scents. Make sure you check the bottle to see if it's full, since a lot of these stores leave their perfumes unsupervised.

eBay is becoming a more and more popular alternative for finding discount perfumes. Many people will sell their unwanted perfumes on eBay and they often don't care whether they get the full price for it...they just want something back. This kind of desperation means great deals for you.

Don't ever pay retail price for designer perfume, it's just not worth it. Search around and you're guaranteed to find a better deal. You just have to know where to look.

The easiest way I've found so far is the discount perfume store. It's a store with tons of designer perfumes all in one place, all with low shipping, and best of all, discounted prices (up to 80%). Example - I found a Bvlgari perfume at a popular department store for $130 and then I found that same perfume at a discount perfume store for $53. That's a difference of nearly $100!
