Even if you're the best candidate, you'll never get a chance to show that if you don't have a good resume. A good resume really highlights all your qualifications and skills you feel is a good representation of the job you are aiming to get. It is amportant, as well as interesting to mention any awards you may have won in your field. There are many things that must not be included on your resume. Things that recruiters really don't want to see. In fact if you make any of these mistakes, you probably won't get any further. Don't think that an interviewer won't read through your resume, because they usually do! * Hiding or not including vital information on a resume is like death. A recruiter needs to see all of your important information without having to search for it. * Major gaps in your employment history leave a recruiter wondering about your work ethic. Be prepared to answer questions if you have such gaps in yours. * Resumes that have too much detail when talking about your previous duties are a waste of your time. Duties are generally just sifted through. They are rarely given very much attention, just enough to give the recruiter an idea of what you have done in the past. * If your resume is more than two pages long, it will not be fully read by an employer. They are busy people and it's just the way it is. * The biggest mistake some people make is to include misleading information on their resume just to make themselves look better. Trust me, this is never a good idea as if you get caught out, you'll never have even a slight chance to work for that company again.
