The evolution of bridal shower favors and wedding favors.
The ancient customs of Rome and Italy had their own way of showing gratitude to their guests. Initially, fruits, nuts and biscuits were given to guests before the ceremony. The Romans blessed their couples with fertility. Fruits and nuts represent this in their custom. The Italians were big on status. Therefore giving luxurious items like silk scarves and incense was a common practice amongst the wealthy. This showed that the tradition of giving out favors had dated all the way back to the 16th century. And sure enough they had come a long way.

It is said that when babies smile in their sleep, they are seeing and talking to angels in their dreams. For us, we do not need a reason to smile when we are looking at them. Their cute chubby cheeks, adorable eyes, fine hair and soft skin are able to break apart even the hardest of heart. Jesus was baptized by John The Baptist when he began his ministry, so virtually all Christians will be baptized at the start of their own Christian journey. That is why Christian parents bring their babies to the baptism ceremony. Traditional churches use a font and pour water over the baby's head. Prayers are offered for the well being of the baby and blessings given by the priest.

I barely remember any details on my own baptism, but my mother told me that I was named on the same day that I was baptized. It was a simple ceremony attended by relatives and close friends of my parents. And thus, I began my life as a Christian early in life. My parents organized a brief but meaningful ceremony for my baptism. There were no more that 20 people inside the church to celebrate that special occasion.

“Wake up Jimmy! It is your special day today!” Jennifer stirred her baby up while the whole town is still asleep.
